Double Minded

September 6, 2026

Never again … but yet again.

Who can I blame but me? My wretched flesh and its opposing will.

Shall I ever become mute to sin’s unremitting knocks? Is not the Holy Spirit already at home in me.

Father, take not your spirit from me.

In flashing blindness, dung glimmers as gold.

Yet in a moment I come to.

Is it false I cling to my shame? For I ignored the lamp you placed at my feet.

But what is faith without perseverance.

For from your steadfast love, your Holy Spirit bears much grief.

Exalted or cast down, may I always kneel before you.

Oh, for the day I will rejoice, in new flesh, in renewed creation.

With one will, to forevermore bring praise to my Father.
